Yamaha YZF 600 rear brake change?

I lifted the top of the brake box and removed the brake pads and tryed to put in the new ones and the space is too small for them because the ones before were worn down and these are not. Well, how do I open up that space to get the new ones in?Yamaha YZF 600 rear brake change?Put the old pads back in.

Spread them apart with a screw driver - pressing against the disc and a pad.

Do it slowly and gently - don't damage the disc.

That will push the piston back into the caliper.

Don't open the bleeder valve - you'll end up having to bleed the brakes, when it's not necessary after changing the pads.

Temporarily remove the master cylinder cover and soak up some of the brake fluid (with a clean paper towel) if the MC is to full.

Put the cover back on and spread the brake pads again.

Continuously check the MC and soak up any excess fluid.

After the pads are in, pump the brake pedal and top up the MC with new brake fluid.

Take it easy on the first 20 or so miles - new brakes have to be broken in.

When the brakes are strong enough to lock up the rear wheel, they're good to go.Yamaha YZF 600 rear brake change? You have to push the caliper pistons back in, use a big channel lock pliers and squeeze them back in..... If its too hard to push them in, open up the bleeder screw, this will make them go in effortlessly
